State of Molly 99 Update
October 7, 2010
Dear Nuclear Medicine Professional,
Austin Nuclear Pharmacy and Specialty Pharmacy Services would like to assure you, our loyal and valued Customers, your patients, and physicians that we are positioned to take EVERY advantage of the current availability of Molybdenum-99 (Mo-99).
Austin Nuclear Pharmacy and Specialty Pharmacy Services have and ALWAYS purchased Mo-99—Tc-99m generator systems from all available sources in the United States, via purchasing relationships with both Lantheus Medical Imaging and Covidien. These ongoing relationships have and continue to secure our, and your, access to Tc-99m in the GLOBAL supply chain. Our contracts with the providers of Tc99m generators allow full access to any and ALL products and services available within our industry. We are in a unique position to share resources between our two sister companies (and soon to be a third). This sharing of resources ensures product availability, if product is globally available; we can and do share the products among our two companies. In almost all cases we were able to provide adequate isotope to all of our customers. Many of you cooperated by using various dual isotope protocols which made the situation more manageable and many more of your reduced you activity requirements and pre-cal.
During the recent shortage we were able to mitigate the effects, as much as humanly possible, and provide exceptional service and access to all products available. Our staff did communicate and try to anticipate shortages with as much accuracy as anyone in our industry could predict. In many cases we were notified at the last possible hour by our suppliers. Our staff managed the situations admirably. My hat is off to them.
Austin Nuclear Pharmacy and Specialty Pharmacy Services are members of vast purchasing network consisting of 146 Pharmacies across the United States. This access and membership assures that we, as a member, have consistent and total access to the supplies, drugs and equipment at your disposal.
We do appreciate your continued support and the patience shown during these tough times. Our commitment to you and your patients will not waiver.
Respectfully yours,
Tom Wilkinson, President
